Hi all!

I'm Lauren and this is Malcolm Bright from the TV show Prodigal Son. Malcolm is a criminal profiler working as consultant for the NYPD. One of the reasons he's so great at his job is because his father is a serial killer, a particularly prolific one that was active in the 90s nicknamed "The Surgeon". Ten year old Malcolm actually turned him in. Totally normal family, nothing to see here.

Malcolm has a traumatic past, lives with various mental health concerns and hunts killers for a living. Naturally, these things come up in conversation with him. Also, being a profiler, it means that he can probably "read" your character very well aka make assumptions about them based on physical or personality traits. I won't do this without asking, but if you would like to opt out from being profiled or from hearing about his daddy issues, just let me know.

Oh man, I clearly need to add this to my unending list of "things I ought to watch" it sounds like a neat show.

But they clearly oughta meet. And he should absolutely profile Declan. My boy tries so hard to be unremarkable and lies reflexively, so someone who can see through some of his bullshit is 100% my jam. He also has Daddy Issues of his own.

I'm not sure if they'd exactly get *along* or not, but I'm definitely curious to find out.

With Malcolm, one can never tell if someone is going to get along with him. It just kind of depends on how the first interaction goes down lol. As a profiler, he can be pretty blunt sometimes.

Yeah, and depending on what he picks up on profiling-wise, Dec was dragged into criminal stuff as a child which he's been unable to escape, so he can seem.. traumatized morally murky from certain angles.

But his younger brother is very blunt, so if nothing else Declan is pretty accustomed to that vibe, at least.
