First a Plot!
It's already been noted that the monsters can and will affect a persons feelings. It'll push fear, panic, a desire to run and escape. And lets not forget how it affected the temperature around it's potential victims. It's also been noted that, try as the best of Driftcrest might, they just can't get a good look at them at all.
Now, it's time to flip the script. And for this, we need volunteers. People willing to have an encounter with the monsters. Whether that be a run-in, or something that leaves some manner of damage, just let us know in the Volunteers thread below. We'll take as many as we can get, and each person will be given the same general idea of what's going on. But these monsters are getting a bit brazen, or maybe they're getting sloppy.
Whatever the case, they're getting more and more dangerous, and it starts with more disappearances.
Over the next week, smaller stores will be closed until further notice. That coffee shop you loved to frequent in the morning? Closed because the owner disappeared, the only thing left of them being a beloved hat.
Your favorite book store? Also closed, and again, the only thing anyone found of theirs is a beloved copy of Princess Bride.
It'll happen throughout the week, and there'll be a thread below for people to suggest NPCs vanishing and what important item they leave behind. And over the weeks, more ice statue memorials will appear in the Ice Statue Garden, each one a perfect representation of the people that have vanished.
Speaking of that garden, it might be noted that the older statues will start to appear vandalized. They'll be fine one day, smashed to bits the next, creating anger within the community. NPCs won't blame the Fluxed-ins. They'll blame the guards. Don't worry. They won't start fights with the guards just yet? But don't be surprised if a guard walking by gets hit by a random snowball from an unknown source. NPCs are upset and lashing out at local authority-figures.
As for those volunteers, later on in the weeks, we'd like for people to have some more up close and personal issues with the monsters. Should you think your character would deeply hate such a thing (and you thoroughly enjoy it), please comment in the volunteers thread below and let us know if you'd like your character to take damage or not. We will also eventually be asking for people to vanish and be added to the Ice Statue Guardian, along with asking people to help with a Final Fight against the monsters, but for now, we just need volunteers for some Close Encounters of the Very Frigid and Very Supernatural Kind.
Warning: Expect this to be painful for your characters. We'll leave the level of damage and where to your own discretion, but we warn for lasting effects. Both physical and otherwise.
Volunteers!

Re: Volunteers!
They won't be looking to do too much damage. We just want a few things remembered when this does happen.
Before attacking, Kaz will experience the following:
They will hear the creature moving around them, and be very aware they're being followed. However, as these creatures are called the Unseen, there's a reason for that. Try as Kaz might, he won't be able to get a visual on them. This is something we're going to handle later on as the plot progresses.
These creatures also project an aura of Danger that, for most, tends to be too intense to ignore. But they're getting tricky with it. They've taken to using it to lead people into a trap before attacking.
When they do attack, it's with claws and fangs and very strong body checks. But don't worry. The creatures get loud when they attack, all roars and growls. A guard with one of the incendiary weapons (most likely a bow with flaming arrows) will come by and rescue Kaz and the creature will leave.
Something to note about the injuries. They won't heal like normal. Healing will be slow and instead of the usual red or what have you of a cut healing over, it'll be blue and almost crystalline. And cold. No amount of trying to warm it up will work and it'll just leave the site of injury feeling very uncomfortable. Think pulled muscle or a very deep bruise.
Please note that the extent of your characters injuries is entirely up to you. We do ask that, should you decide to go into detail, please put a warning.

Just some notes! Copypasted from above, but these are things to remember that run the same for all.

Bruce or Bats will hear the Unseen moving, but they have that name for a reason. They aren't seen until seconds before they attack, but Bruce will find later that remembering what they look like is impossible. They're tough, solid. They attack with teeth and claws, impossibly hard body checks.
And not only can they manipulate emotions to make someone feel fear and an intense flight response, but they can make the environment feel so much colder.
Scratches and bites will heal very slowly and will look very odd while doing so. Instead of normal scabs and all, injuries will turn blue and look almost crystalline and they'll stick around for a good, long while. Even the area around those injuries will feel cold. Like they've been in ice for too long. No amount of heat will warm them up. If anything, it'll make it hurt worse. So expect some discomfort while in warmer areas.

Just wondering in case some big dumb dude in a bat costume decides to start literally poking into the wounds and trying to get some more information about it.
Is it possible to remember how big they are in size, even if the clear details can't be remembered?
