STORY SO FAR

We've had people taken. We've had stores close, and masses of mourners at the Ice Statue Gardens. We've even had a brave soul or two work their hardest to keep statues safe, even without knowing who they are. And we've had people taking up residence in the library in order to research.

That research has paid off. With the combined efforts of everyone involved, the location of the Unseen has been discovered and a weakness has been found. With all of this information given to the captain of the guards, they've decided to allow people to help them take the Unseen down.

As we're allowing people to really get into the thick of research, this fight will happen on April 7th. Should progress on research happen sooner, we'll bump the date to earlier.

BUILDING TO THE END / FINAL BATTLE

For now, Expect a log on April 7th for the final fiery showdown. Your characters, up until then, will be trained in how to use the flamethrowers and other fire-based weapons. Some of you will be recruited to help make self-immolating molotovs, others will be trained in field medicine, specifically fire-related injuries.

On the day of the fight, your characters will leave early in the morning, just as the sun rises, and you'll take a truck or two three miles away from Driftcrest to an abandoned mining cave.

The Unseen will be deep within, visible and sleeping, but they'll wake up quick. Something about being awake during the day will make it harder for them to go intangible, only half-fading. Harder to hit, sure, but not as impossible as before.

They'll also do what they can to create the same paranoid and afraid feelings from before, but it won't work. Not for long.

They'll also be doing their damnedest to protect a very old looking stone box in the middle of the room. Any attempts to get to it while the Unseen are still alive will result in being dragged back and away.

When they're all finally dead, the box will start shaking some. And then shaking a lot. Cracks will start appearing on it and the whispers from your dreams will be heard, getting louder with each break in the surface of the box.

Eventually, it'll shatter entirely and the aforementioned items that were stolen will fall out.

ITEMS AND REVIVAL

Each item will call to a specific person. (Plotting below) Once that specific person has the item, they'll know right away who they belong to. They'll get visions of them alive and immediately want to get it back to the rightful owner.

Getting the item within a foot of their ice-statue'd owner will cause the statues to immediately shatter, releasing the person inside.

If you're one of the people who lost something but didn't get turned into an ice statue, you'll find your own item (and probably someone elses should plotting go that way) and once it's in your possession again, you'll feel a great sense of peace as though some part of your very being was missing.

Please be advised, O Frozen Ones; there are side effects to being an ice-cube. You're going to need time to recover and as Driftcrest has never seen anyone freed from the statues, you'll spend four to five days in the hospital under observation. You'll then be sent home and ordered to rest for a few more days.

You'll need it.

Coming out of the statues, you'll feel as though you have the worst flu. No sniffing or coughing or any of that. Just the following:

Muscle pain
Headaches
Senses going from sensory overload, to incredibly muted
Fatigue
Inability to regulate your own temperature, going from feeling as though you're freezing one moment, to too hot the next. (No fevers. Just your body being weird.)
Occasionally, nightmares of being frozen, but nothing so prophetic or serious as the other nightmares going on. They'll be brief and forgotten moments after waking.

People With Powers:

Your powers will be MIA and slow to return, so please be careful.

By the 12th of April, people should be feeling a lot better. Your powers might be still off, but you'll feel a lot better than you have in a while.

CELEBRATIONS IN SUMMER!

DURING ALL OF THIS, there will be some lovely changes in Driftcrest.

Snow will be melting, revealing lovely green grass and beautifully cobbled stone paths leading all throughout town. Flower gardens will be starting to bloom in a wild and wide variety of color, and it'll start feeling a lot like Summer.

Because that's the time of year it should be in Driftcrest. It's been cold and snow for so long that the people have given up on ever seeing it again, and they'll be so excited t's back that they'll throw a three-day long celebration.

Seriously, Driftcrest knows how to get down, and they have every reason to do so. Heroes of the setting will be celebrated, hugged, thanked profusely.

There'll be foods of all kinds. Music. Bonfires at night. Alcohol for the adults (but if any teens want to drink no one's really going to stop them).

There'll be all manner of games and events and contests, all befitting a Summer block party.

Driftcrest is happy and grateful and, should you be one of the ones previously frozen, or one of the ones to rescue the frozen, your food just might be free.

This is how we want plotting to go below.

If you have an item that went missing and you turned into an ice statue, please comment below with what that missing item was and what you'll be okay with people seeing upon touching it.

If you're going to be part of the big rescue, please tell us below what you're training in and what you'll be doing. Please remember, there will be NPCs going along, so if you're learning how to help with burns you won't have to worry about player characters getting hurt to play out healing anyone.

Happy plotting, everyone!
